Kerpen ... to live and to experience

Modern Trade Building at EUROPARC Kerpen
Kerpen is a city with a charming quality of life, a city to live and feel rightathome at a city to love between cultural traditions and economic progress and a city of about 63,000 inhabitants.

The excellent location of the city atone of the most important traffic nodes, the Kerpen Autobahn intersection where A61 from Venlo to Koblenz meets up with A4 between Cologne and Aachen makes this site into an excellent location for the settlement of various trade and industrial sectors within the Cologne economic area.

While there are great shopping opportunities on site, there is also an excellent rapid transit infrastructure with rail stations in Buir, Sindorf and Horrem connecting Kerpen with the major cities of this region. This aspect is not only appreciated by business commuters alone. Kerpen also offers many sightseeing attractions: The past may be explored in majestic castles and palaces within the Kerpen municipalities, providing testimony on the fate of their former residents. The birth place of Adolf Kolping (1813-1865), for example, allows insight into the life and work of this great social reformer whose long-lasting effect still manifests itself in the globally committed Kolping Works, carrying on his legacy into the very present.

The cultural and leisure scene of Kerpen is not much behind in the comparison with major cities. Grand name artists and bands are frequent visitors to play before capacity audiences. The International Jazz Night, just to name one of many, is well known beyond regional boundaries and stars from cabaret and comedy like Gabi Köster, Piet Klocke or Konrad Beikircher, perform here as well.

For our youngsters, kindergarten schools are available in all municipalities as well as a complete program from elementary to senior high schools.

An important contribution to the quality of life is made by active and competitive sports associations and clubs in Kerpen, leaving nothing to be desired. Bow hunting, hockey, judo, jazz dance – your sporty contemporaries will find just the right activity. And since we mentioned sports, it brings us quite naturally to the names of Michael and Ralf Schuhmacher who carried the fame of Kerpen out into the world.

The citizens of Kerpen simply love to live here. This is due, on the one hand, to the lively communities which characterize the overall picture of the city with their unmistakable identity. On the other hand, Kerpen offers many of the advantages of living surrounded by forests and meadows while also enjoying the benefits of urban living.
